Recently, Baker has installed vertical folding walls in the multifunctional classrooms of the new teaching building at Qatar University.

Our team responded quickly, tailoring a solution to the site conditions and fully meeting the campus's requirements for acoustic performance, ease of operation, and seamless integration with the architectural design. 

This ground-floor vertical retractable wall measures 15,800 mm long and 2,900 mm high. To accommodate the tiered classroom layout, the base of the wall features a stepped design, perfectly fitting the actual spatial requirements.

The panels are finished with whitemarker board material, serving both decorative and functional purposes. This design enhances the visual depth and aesthetic appeal of the space, creating a comfortable teaching environment. Acoustic performance was a top priority. With lab-certified sound insulation keeping noise levels as low as 62 dB, the system guarantees a quiet and focused environment for students and faculty. Best of all, when the space needs to be open, the wall vanishes neatly into the ceiling, leaving the floor completely clear for flexible classroom configurations. 

When not in use, the wall can be perfectly retracts into the ceiling, occupying no floor space, thus allowing for the rational division of functional teaching areas.
