Located in the heart of Amwaj Island, the Renaissance Hotel Bahrain is a premier destination for international travelers, corporate leaders, and high-profile events in the Gulf region. To maximize space flexibility while maintaining the highest standards of acoustic performance and design integrity, the hotel required a bespoke partitioning system capable of transforming a large ballroom into two fully functional, sound-isolated meeting rooms.
Our Solution
Baker supplied a custom-engineered black vertical folding retractable wall system designed to divide a large conference hall into two independent meeting rooms. The system is integrated with turn-key control, allowing one-touch automated operation, and complete with obstacle detection sensors for user safety.
Unlike traditional operable wall systems, this ceiling-retractable vertical partition offers significantly superior acoustic insulation, thanks to its multi-layer soundproof core, sealed perimeters, and precision-guided track system. It effectively eliminates sound transfer between the two spaces—ensuring private and disturbance-free meetings even when used simultaneously.
Design Integration
The matte black surface finish was selected to match the meeting tables and overall interior palette, creating a unified and professional ambiance. When retracted, the vertical raising walls are concealed within a ceiling pocket, restoring the space to its full, open-plan configuration without visible tracks or hardware.
