Adaptability is necessary for modern offices. This particular office was open, and nothing could be done to help with privacy or acoustics. We installed clean, white, movable walls, which now divide the open plan into three connected areas.
We replaced fixed walls with panels that slide along tracks in the ceiling. The panels do not break the ceiling lines, offering the space both a sense of a ceiling line and flexibility.
Contrary to what it looks like, three separate areas can be made with only two walls and sliding partitions. For example, if a wall is slid, a lounge may be transformed into a private meeting room, and if the other wall is slid, a quiet work nook may emerge. This can be done without sacrificing any lighting or structural changes to the office.
Our walls are not only meant to fill space or divide rooms. They are tools that efficiently and even intelligently organize the rooms. Further, the walls shift from different areas of the office, whether space is needed for work, collaborative meeting, or organized energy.
