Bakerwall supplied custom manual movable partition systems for meeting spaces at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Our engineering team tailored the solution to match the campus's minimalist modern design, fulfilling strict demands for flexible space division, acoustic privacy and clean visual aesthetics suitable for academic environments.
The project installed 2 sets of manual movable walls. The 105mm thick panels stand at 2.9m high, with a total installed area of 75 sqm. Panels use ultra-white painted frosted glass with full surrounding black aluminium edging, enabling soft natural light transmission while maintaining visual privacy inside meeting and discussion rooms.
This manual sliding partition can divide a large open room into independent discussion zones or combine separated areas to form a bigger venue for seminars and workshops. The robust panel construction supports repeated space adjustments to cater to lectures, student group discussions and various academic meetings, with effective sound insulation to eliminate noise interference between divided spaces.
When a fully open layout is required, all partition panels can slide smoothly and stack neatly to the side storage area. The system retains the workspace's sleek contemporary appearance without damaging the existing interior decoration, delivering practical and stable flexible space transformation for the university's educational buildings.
